New Year's Day Polar Bear Swim - BRRRRRRR!

Don't be misled by the title! I did NOT immerse my body in frigid waters today, even though the hardy few do choose to mark the first of the year by imitating the aquatic frolics of the polar bear!! The sky was clear and blue, the sun shone brightly, but by no stretch of the imagination was it a warm day, so all I dipped in the water was my right paw! Those plunging in were 'dressed' for the occasion - some sported polar bear costumes, others bikinis, while some even chose to dress in drag! The ambulance was standing by, but thankfully not needed, despite the icy temperature of the water.. Oh yes - to mark the occasion I received a New Year hug from a polar bear - while it was still dry!!
